She was predeceased by: her parents, John Turner and Lillian Turner; her husband James E. Brooks I; her siblings, Johnnie Andrews and Jerry Turner; and her daughter Felicia Darlin.

She is survived by: her son James E. Brooks II; and her siblings, Nancy Turner-Shook and J. B. Turner. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
