He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sams and Hester Lee Sams (Wood). He is survived by: his wife Jeannine; his children, Sylvia Settlemire (Stephan Graham) of Van Buren, Sara Hill (Mako) of Phoenix, Arizonia, Tony Sams of Washington, Brian Sams of Utah and Benjamin Hester of Mountain View, Arkansas; his siblings, Pam Mann (Rich) of Shawnee, Kansas, Sheila McCalmon (Robert) of Shawnee, Kansas, Gary Sams (Cheryl) of Basehor and Ray Sams of Kansas City, Kansas; his grandchildren, Phoenix Settlemire, Octavia Settlemire, Nyla Sams, Declan Sams, Penelope, Emmi Hill, Tony Sams, Jayla Sams, Kaliya Sams and Layna Sams; and his great grandchild Jaxtyn.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ocker Funeral Home (700 Jefferson St, Van Buren, AR 72956). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the U. S. National Cemetery.
