He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolphus "Dock" Ortiz and Isadora Ortiz (Padgett); and his sisters, Mary Magdalene Arnold and Barbara "Bobbie" Sue Ortiz. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ortiz (Gilstrap); and his children, Kimberly Brooks (Doug) and Kenneth Armstrong (Patricia). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
