He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Lingo; his son James Dean Lingo; his siblings, Tammy Morgan, Patricia Wilson and Timothy "Red" Lingo; his sons-in-law, Turner Norman, Johnny Carlisle and Tyler Steel; and his brother-in-law Alan Newby.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Lingo; his children, LaLisa Briones of Texas, Tammy Blackshear of Van Buren, Patricia Lingo of Van Buren, Mary Steel of Van Buren and William Newton of Van Buren; his mother Mary Lingo of Bella Vista; and his brother Lloyd Lingo of Alma. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews.
