He was predeceased by: his parents, T. O. Suggs and Katherine Suggs (Smith); his wife Katherine Suggs; and his brother Billy Joe Suggs. He is survived by: his children, Terri Suggs of Van Buren and James Suggs (Lori) of Van Buren; and his sister Glenda Rayner of Van Buren. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
