He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Alger (Pratt); his son Edward W. Alger Jr.; his parents, Clarence Sr. Alger and Ruby Alger (Swanson); his siblings, Ruby Allen Walsh, Alberta Ruth Fuller and Dewayne Alger Jr.; and his granddaughter Nikki Klein.
He is survived by: his children, Charity Hardin (Roger), German of New York and Daniel Alger of New York; and his siblings, Nancy Carlson of Erie, Eleanor Thor of Warren, Pennsylvania, Richard Alger of Palm Bay and Charles Alger of Jamestown. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
