He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hembrey and Belle Hembrey (Davis); and his siblings, T. J. Hembrey, Sue Brasheres, Johnnie Armstrong, Thelma Cockrill, Emily Layton and Betty Stoner.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Hembrey (Vickie) of Diaz and Misty Gates (Ricky) of Jonesboro; his siblings, Jack Hembrey (Sandy) of Hickory Grove, Katie Hawk of Newport and Chris Roberts of Vidalia, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Cassie Kissinger (Bradley) of Brookland, Tyler Hembrey (Maci) of Swifton and Tess Gates of Nashville; and his great grandchildren, Alena Looney, Aiden Looney, Luke Kissinger, Addabell Hembrey and Mason Hembrey.
