Elwanda J. McKenzie Obituary
Elwanda McKenzie, 85, of Trumann, Arkansas passed away at St. Bernards Medical Center on May 17, 2024. She was born on October 1, 1938 in Trumann, Arkansas to Elmer and Wynona (Carter) Roberts. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann, Arkansas. She loved singing at church and the nursing home, helping decorate and organize at the church, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include; one son: Thomas Mitchell McKenzie (Shelia) of Trumann, Arkansas; one daughter: Beth Josam (Roger) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one sister: Bonnie Valentine (Donald) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Lauren Sawyer (Jacob), Cody McKenzie, Alexandria Saunders (Zack), Andrew Josam; five great grandchildren: Max Sawyer, Ben Sawyer, Sam Sawyer, August McKenzie, Adalynn McKenzie; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband: Donald McKenzie; one brother: Jim Roberts; and one grandchild: Joshua McKenzie.
Pallbearers: Jacob Sawyer, Max Sawyer, Ben Sawyer, Sam Sawyer, Andrew Josam, and Cody McKenzie.
Honorary Pallbearers: Larry McMullin and Lamon Moye.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Many 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann, Arkansas with Pastor Larry Loggins and Pastor Kevin Carter officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
