She was predeceased by: her husband Columbus Highsmith; her children, Susan Barrett and Gary Barrett; her siblings, Melvin Jordan, L. C. Chambers, Oliver Chambers, Benny Lee Chambers, Hazel Chambers, Mildred Chambers, Joyce Thompson, Tracy Chambers, Iola "Louise" Wilson and Diane Jones; and her son-in-law Thomas Belin.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Chambers (Lanett), Stevie Barrett and Peggy Belin of Thornton; her sister Cindy Jones of Bearden; and her grandchildren, Keith Barrett of Thornton, Jessica Monroe (Michael) of Thornton, Bobby Chambers of Fordyce, Shronda Barrett of Fordyce, Christopher Owens (Megan) of Fordyce, LaKeea Frazier (Melique) of Cedar Rapids, Safarie Barrett of Marion, Gary Coleman of Topeka, Michael Coleman of Topeka, Brianna, Kendra, Demarion, Ja'Tavia, Jaiden, Bentlee, Langston, Karter, Keithon, Kenley and Bexlee. She is also survived by one uncle and one aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Brown-Williams Funeral Home (2010 Rosewood Ln, Fordyce, AR 71742). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (608 Cashman Dr, Thornton, AR 71766).
