He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Thompson and Virginia Thompson. He is survived by: his brothers, Ricky Thompson of Texarkana and James (April Thompson); his nieces, Stephanie (Josh Rowton) and Samantha Thompson of Maud, Texas; his great-nephew Grayson Hudson of Maud; and his great-niece Adalyn Hudson of Maud, Texas. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins and other relatives.
