It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Everett James Fort of Texarkana, Arkansas, born in Hooks, Texas, who passed away on October 12, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathis Fort and Minnie Ola Fort; his grandchildren, Eva Woods and Everett Woods; and his siblings, R. E. Fort, Sr., R. T. Fort, Sr., H. M. Fort, Sr., Mathis Fort, Jr., Lloyd Fort, Seaoney Lomax, Grace Gouldsby and Ostine Hearon.
He is survived by: his daughter Helen Fort Bolden; his grandchildren, Gwendolyn Fort of Texarkana, AR and Alexander Bolden of Texarkana, AR; and his brother Willie Fort of Texarkana, AR. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
