He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Lee Cole and Faye Covington Cole; his grandparents, John William Cole, Mary Francis Pennington Cole, John Henry Covington and Ida Oaks Covington; his siblings, Earl Cole, Bobby Ray Cole, Mattie Ester Vinson, Lorene Vinson, Sybil Beard, Mereline Morgan and Imogene Cole; and his grandson Bradford Cole Pittman.

He is survived by: his daughter Patsy Pittman; his grandchildren, James Scott Pittman, Shea Lynn Garner and Jeremy Garner; and his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Garner and Madalee Garner. He is also survived by many numerous nieces and nephews.
