He is survived by: his wife Marie Samuels Whitley of Texarkana, Arkansas; his mother Bernice Ford Whitley of Texarkana; his children, James Whitley (Melaina) of Bryant, Jessica Miller (Shane) of Simms, Jennifer Dycus (James) of Texarkana and Jamie Story (Christina) of Texarkana, Texas; his brother Johnny; his sister-in-law Darlene Whitley of Maud, Texas; and his sister Melissa Moore of Texarkana, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; one great grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.
