He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Walter and Nancy Fitzgerald (Woods); his wife Betty Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Roy, Bruce, Ernest, Troy and Josephine Fitzgerald.

He is survived by: his children, Sammy Fitzgerald of Magnolia and Judy Barrett (Paul) of Wharton, TX; his granddaughters, Leslie Barrett of Dallas, TX and Ashley Barrett of Houston, TX; and his sisters, Imogene Ebarb of Shreveport, LA and Dorothy Martin of Magnolia. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
