He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wood Patterson, Sr. and Lina Mae Patterson (Hembrey); his grandsons, Joe Hamilton and Jeremiah Goza; his siblings, Martha Ray, Helen Smith, Anthony Patterson and Robert Wood Patterson; and his half-brother Ricky Dale Benskin.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Hamilton Patterson; his children, Thomas Robert Patterson of Swifton, Alan Vernon Patterson (Sherri) of Batesville, Carolyn Patterson Hohn (Lonnie) of Newport and Lydia Patterson Ranger (James III) of Bakersfield, California; his brother Jerry Patterson (Dana) of Newport; and his grandchildren, Dana Hamilton Southhall (Jimmy), Amber Sullins (Westley), Drew Hohn (Alyssa), Amanda Castle, Joshua Patterson, Jim Ranger (Camilla), Jonathan Ranger (Amber), Cody Patterson (Rachel), Caleb Patterson, Emma Patterson, Anesa James (Devon), Julia Horton (Justin), Ben Torres (Leandra), Braydon Barnes, Kailyn Barnes and Kayme Torres. He is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
