Thelma Lucille Penley Obituary

Thelma Lucille Penley, 75, of Swifton, Arkansas passed away at her home on November 7, 2024. She was born on April 24, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Harold and Opal (Dillard) Dowdy. Thelma enjoyed cooking, coloring, and spending time with her family. She loved her dogs Lola and Clyde.

Survivors include; three children: Charles Penley, Jr. of Paragould, Arkansas, Thelma Johnson (Henry) of Swifton, Arkansas, Velma Crossland of Paragould, Arkansas; nine grandchildren: Stephanie, Timothy, Courtney, Jacob, Austin, Kyle, Kaleb, James, Dixie; several great grandchildren; one brother: David Dowdy; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by; her parents: Harold and Opal (Dillard) Dowdy; husband: Charles Penley, Sr.; grandmother: Pearl Dillard; one infant child; one grandchild: Elizabeth Matthews; one sister: Rose Dillard; and four brothers: Reginald Dowdy, Sherman Dowdy, William Dowdy, Jr Dowdy.

The family has requested private arrangements under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
