He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben McCoy and Lillie Burks McCoy; his parents-in-law, Addie Clingmon and Douglas Clingmon; his siblings, Myrtle Henderson, Emma Earnestine McCoy Simms, Ben McCoy, Jr., James L. "Buddy" McCoy and Robert McCoy; his sister-in-law Carolyn McCoy; his son-in-law Horace Ware; and his grandchildren, JC McCoy, Jr., Arnold McCoy and Christopher Waller.
He is survived by: his wife Betty McCoy; his children, Lela Mae Miller (Wayne), Paula Jean Ware, Kenneth McCoy, Sr., Donald Ray McCoy (Veronica), Antonio Cole, Derrick Clingmon and Carlos Houston; his siblings, Paul McCoy (Louise), AC McCoy, Howard Burks, Sr., Lillie Chambers and Bertha Walker (Albert); and his sister-in-law Mary McCoy. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
