She was predeceased by: her parents, William Charley and Fannie Phillips Dodson; her husband Timothy Young; her siblings, Mavis Dodson Wilson (Harold), Charles F. Dodson (Earline), Anne Dodson Hampton (Cornell) and Hazel Dodson; her nephew Wilfred Dodson (Buggs); her great-nephew Brent Dodson; and her niece Perrylyn Wilson-Robinson.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Judy K. Wilson-Murray, Peggy Diane Dodson, Sharon Denise Dodson, Eleanore Dodson, Cornell Hampton, Jr. (Marsha), Johnny R. Dodson, Mack R. Dodson and Paul Robinson; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Melika, Lakeesha (John), Candice, Jameca, Jamia, Amanda, Chloe, Omar, Jamin and John Charles; and her cousins, Alice Phillips Butler and Marbelean Carroll. She is also survived by great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.
