He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Nelms and Cora Nelms; his son Ronnie Nelms; and his siblings, Raymond Nelms, Billy Nelms, Bertie Smith, Laurie Baucum and Doris Selby.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Nelms; his children, Gary Nelms (Diania) of Stuttgart, Sharon Booth of Stuttgart and Wanda Hooker of Stuttgart; his sister Christine Ingle of Monroe; his grandchildren, Shelly Strain (Blake), Jennifer Reaves (Johnathan), Brad Booth, Alisha Robertson (Health), Rhonda Errabelli (Adithya), Chris Hooker and Jared Hooker; his great grandchildren, Hannah Booth, Emily Reaves Nellina Errabelli and Haley Strain; and his great great grandchildren, Aubrielle and Elijah Booth.
