He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Cates and Donna Cates; and his brother Kenny Cates. He is survived by: his wife Kristi Cates; his children, Boomer Cates (Abbie), Adam Cates (Ashley) and Bojak Cates; his grandchildren, Roman, Scarlett, Braxton and Kaleb; his siblings, Terry Cates (Katie), Joey Cates (Julie), Danny Cates and Donna McDonald; his close friends, Toby and Tonya Wilson; and his pets, Bella, Auggy and Casanova. He is also survived by many other friends and family.
