He was predeceased by: his parents, E. H. Nicholas and Betty Murleen Nicholas (Miller); his wife June Marie Nicholas (Bjelland); and his brothers, Nathan Nicholas and Reuben Nicholas.

He is survived by: his children, Tonia Wood (Tim) of Stamps, AR, Darold David Nicholas of Stamps, AR. and Donald Ray Nicholas of Stamps, AR.; his sister Judy Sue Clark of Stamps, AR; and his grandsons, Jacob Wood and Hunter Wood. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
