He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonce Strange and Alma Flow Strange; his wife Alene Hamilton Strange; his son Timmy Strange; and his siblings, Leonce Strange, Jr., Benton Strange, Evelyn Ruston-Wheelington, Merrel Gregory and Mary Katherine Hurd.

He is survived by: his son Gary W. Strange (Teresa) of Stamps, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Ainslee Lee and John Houk; and his friend LaToyer Dismuke.
