He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Hillman Cathey and Lula Mae Dunn Cathey; his son Charles Michael Cathey; his siblings, Gurlayne Cathey, Thelma Jean Redding and Grady Hillman Cathey; his nephew Lewis Hillman Wray; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Nash and Richard Nash.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Nash Cathey; his children, Dr. Steven Lynn Cathey, John Haltom (Mylinda) and Kayla Haltom Hebert (Matt); his grandchildren, Michael Riley Cathey, Elizabeth Lynn Cathey, Camille Hebert, Elise Hebert, River Haltom and Anna Haltom; and his siblings-in-law, Lula Mae Cathey, Jacque Ford (Danny), Camile Lenderman (Don), Darlene Nash, Janie Held, Charles Nash (Joyce), Danny Nash (Betsy) and Dewayne Nash (JoAnn).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Young's Funeral Directors Chapel (508 Champagnolle Rd, El Dorado, AR 71730). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
