It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Bowden of Smackover, Arkansas, born in Stephens, Arkansas, who passed away on January 27, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Lowery and Annie Mae Smith Lowery; her husband Isaiah Hale Bowden; and her siblings, Gladys Spain, Barbara Parks, Janet Carter and Preston Lowery.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Bowden (Candy) and Chris Bowden (Donna); her siblings, Jane Spruill, Judy Corley (David) and John Lowery (Donna); her sisters-in-law, Ellen Lowery and Sally Adams; her grandchildren, Kyle Bowden (Pam), Misti Neal (Wesley), Kalyn Clark (Logan), Ashley Jones (Jeremy), Anthony Davis (Samantha), Amber Barnes, Paige Kemp (Greg) and Brandon Dearing; and her great grandchildren, Samuel Isaiah Bowden, Kai Liam Neal, Austin, Sierra, Braden, Cameron, Trace, Preston, Kaylee, Aria, Julia, Eason, Frances Talley, Martha Neal, Mildred Holloway and Nancy Jackson.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to First Baptist Church, Smackover, AR.
