He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Tapp Pierce and E. R. "Jack" Pierce; his son Dawayne Pierce; and his siblings, Norman Pierce, Doyle Pierce and Bernice Pierce.
He is survived by: his wife Geneva Darden Pierce of Smackover; his children, Cindy Upshaw of Smackover and Tommy Pierce (Emily) of Junction City, LA; his grandchildren, Leah Faulkner, Ryan Strange, Shawn Pierce and Forrest Pierce; and his brothers, LaVelle Pierce of Mannford, OK and Larry Pierce of Harmony Grove. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
