He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin and Zilphia Elizabeth Neal Garrett; and his siblings, Clayton Garrett, Milbra Kirkland, Marie Brannon and Willie Mae Wolff.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Coile Garrett of Springhill, LA; his daughters, Judy Ann Whittington (Jimmy) of Cotton Valley, LA and Sharon Garrett Downey (Mitchell) of Benton, LA; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones, Andrea Farley, Kara Whittington, Ronnie Downey, Brittney Downey, Kirsten Downey and Rocky Downey; his great grandchildren, Garrett Neal, Mason Neal, Connor Whittington, Kynlee Jones, Easton Jones, Leigha Waites, Joseph Downey, James Downey, Macee Downey, Sebastian Perez, Paxton Downey, Eli Downey, Jaci-Kate Downey, Paisley Tate and Ann-Marie Seymour; and his sister Ruth Garrett of DeFuniak Springs, FL..
