He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde West and Irene West; his wife Juanita; his brother Bo; his grandparents, James Albert and Phoebe Rebecca; and his aunt Annie Lee.
He is survived by: his children, Clyde West, Willie West (Beckey), Beckie Calderon and Rena Linder (Buddy); and his siblings, Lawrence Smith (Mary) and Vida. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
