He was predeceased by: his children, Michell Hewitt, Katrina Edgar and Eddie Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Tish Edgar; his children, Mike Edgar, Mark Edgar, Tommy Hughes and Diana Wilson; and his sister Patsy Crowell. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and had many great-grandchildren.
