Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Opal Shanek in Sherwood, Arkansas, born in England, Arkansas, who passed away at the age of 96, on February 18, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Calvin Sappington and Nora Maude Peggram-Sappington; her husband Joseph Dale Shanek; and her siblings, Carlee, Theodore, Herbert, Pete Sappington, Jack McCurley and Hazel Sappington Linsner.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Dorothy McCurley (Dot) of Panama City; and her stepson Loren Shanek of Hot Springs, Arkansas.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to concerns with the COVID-19 virus, no visitation or funeral services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local animal rescue shelter or other charity of your choice.
