He was predeceased by: his parents, Lehman Purdy and Elsie Purdy; his wife Mary Purdy; his son Michael Purdy; and his brothers, John Robert Purdy and Thomas Gayle Purdy.
He is survived by: his children, MeChelle Heath of Venice and Chris Purdy of Orlando, Florida; his grandchildren, Keith Purdy (Amanda), Melissa Maxson (Matthew), Kristin Heath-Fudge (Craig) and Alex Purdy; and his sister Linda Woods (Don). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home (7700 AR-107, Sherwood, AR 72120). A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 AR-107, Sherwood, AR 72120).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alvin's name to Open Door Community Church (709 W. Lee Ave., Sherwood, Arkansas 72120).
