He was predeceased by : his parents, Girvin B. Brewer and Lois Lybrand Brewer; and his siblings, Lois Vernall Bradbury, Geraldine May, Mavine Gray, William E. "Crook" Brewer and James E. "Bud" Brewer.

He is survived by : his wife Kathleen Whitaker Brewer; his children, Eddie DeMoss (Dorothy) and Patty Knox (Scott) of Sheridan; his sister Chlorine "Priss" Haralson of Judsonia; and his pet Amos. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
