He was predeceased by: his parents, Vergia Williams Burgess Arnold and Chester Rexie Burgess; his stepfather Abner Arnold; his son-in-law Sam Kelley; his brother Rex Burgess; and his uncles, Richard, Elmer and Donald Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Susan Johnson Burgess; his children, Larry Burgess, Leanna Veazey (Steve) of Sheridan and Laura Kelley of Sheridan; his sisters, Diane Vallejo of Tulsa and Patricia Moore; his sister-in-law Myla Forbes of Oroville, California; his grandchildren, Tasha Pascarella (Jeremy) of Texarkana, Steven L Veazey (Felecia) of East End, Timothy Burgess (Ashley), Ryan Burgess of Sheridan, Alliye House (Aaron) of Vicksburg, Madison Duke (Wyatt Tourtillotte) of Hensley and Dalton Harp (Breanna) of Sheridan; his great grandchildren, Gabriel Brown, Savannah Hamilton (Dylan), Taylor, Brooklyn Pascarella, Kaden, MyKenna, Jensen Veazey, Ashton, Addi, Lylah House, Addley Duke, Evan, Parker Tourtillotte, Bentley Harp and Hudson Harp; and his great great grandchild Haven Hamilton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and several cousins.
