He is survived by: his wife Melvis Benfield Smith of Sheridan; his son Carl Gene; his daughter-in-law Diane Smith of Sheridan; his sister Wilma Ashcraft of Monticello; his grandchildren, Adam, Amber Smith, Brittany and Justin Moody; and his great grandchildren, Lakyn, Logan and Landon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
