He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelton Truitt and Hazel Geraldine Gimlin Smith; his brother-in-law Larry Harris; his nephew Auston Harris; and his mother-in-law Ardith Harper.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Ann Harper Smith of Sheridan; his children, Brad Smith of Sheridan, Justin Smith (Rebecca) of Sheridan, Jayson Hefner (Hailey) of Malvern, Garrett Smith of Sheridan, Joy Thomas (Ryan) of Asia, Jill Buie (Chase) of Prattsville and Keagan Womble (Matthew) of Bryant; his siblings, Danny Smith (Mickie) of Sheridan and Bonnie Harris of Sheridan; his grandchildren, Anthony, Hollis, Erin, Hosanna, Haddon, Josiah, Elliana, Elijah, Eli, Ezra and Emmitt; and his father-in-law Virgil Harper of Jacksonville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
