With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Sanford of Searcy, Arkansas, who passed away on April 6, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As John departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Waddell Sanford of Searcy; and his son Scott Sanford. He is survived by: his wife Joy Sanford; his children, Amy Branum (Tim) and Hugh Sanford (Shelly); his stepdaughter Shanna Lightfoot (David); and his grandchildren, Seth Branum (Allison), Katie Veit (Conner), Ryan Sanford and Kyle Morris.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home (300 W Matthews Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
