He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert B. Jenkins and Flora Ball Jenkins; and his siblings, Jeanette Wright, Janice Sexton, Yvette Jenkins and Travis Jenkins.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Mooneyhan Jenkins; his children, Herbert Byron Jenkins (Melanie Kay) and Michelle McGill (Greg); his sister Wanda Daniels (Mike); his grandchildren, Blake McGill, Cody Alexander, Herbert Byron "Trey" Jenkins III, Zackery Talon Jenkins and Mallory Turner; and his great grandchild Oliver Turner.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Gideon's International.
