He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Louise Vincent Yates and Nolan Edward Yates; his son Timothy Edward Yates; and also Elsie Mae Griggs. He is survived by: his wife Doris Davidson Yates; his daughter Jan Cramblett (David); his stepchildren, Krista Underwood (Charles), Kathie Ashby, Andy Davidson (Joey) and Rudy Davidson (Dekoka); his grandchildren, Erin Johnson (Erik), Elizabeth Williams (Brock) and Michael Cramblett; his stepgrandchildren, Kacy Underwood Barden (Kelly), Lindsey Underwood Sexton (Matt), Cody Ashby (Kristin), Drew Davidson (Kambri), Riley Davidson Cromer (Kyle), Andrea Davidson Baxter (Joel) and Kelly Davidson (Brooke); his great grandchildren, Evelyn Johnson, Baker Johnson, Stone Williams, Elsie Williams and Tripp Williams; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kennedy Barden, Kassidy Barden, Charlie Sexton, Eli Ashby, Jack Davidson, Rudy Parks Davidson, Noble Davidson and Lyla Davidson; his siblings, Charlotte Bruce (Danny), Joyce Wagner (Claude) and Mike Yates (Sharon); and his nieces and nephews, Lindy Curry, Christy Williams (Tim), Dylan Woodruff, Vincent Wagner (Alia), Meagan Hill (Sky) and Lauren Grimes (Andrew).

Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the West Side Church of Christ (709 W Arch Ave, Searcy, AR 72143). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Side Church of Christ or African Christian Hospitals Fund.
