He was predeceased by: his parents, Madison Victor Stokes and Mamie Gertrude Ford Stokes; his daughter Yvette Stokes Vanlandingham; and his brother Kenneth Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Lindal June Edwards Stokes; his son Ferrell E. Stokes, Jr. (Susan); his grandchildren, Will Stokes (Megan), Abby Usery (Dan), Mattie Stokes, Chad Vanlandingham and Caleb Vanlandingham; his great grandchildren, Gatlin, Leland and Wilder; and his siblings, David Stokes, Paul Stokes, Peggy Edwards (Tim), Ruth Leg (Warren) and Melvie White (Gerry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
