She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Vandiver and Madge Vandiver (Johnson); her former husband Richard Rushin; her husband Robert Whitmire; her grandson Alex Shoffner; and her sisters, Rachel Garner, Merna Bohannon, Patsy Fitch and Joy Lewis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judith Diehl (Ron) and Nancy Whitmire (Noel); her stepson Curtis Whitmire; her grandchildren, Jayme Slayton, R. Martin Shoffner, W. Corbitt Shoffner (Ashley) and Melissa Shoffner; her great grandchildren, Amelia Shoffner and Natalie Shoffner; and her brothers, Jimmy Vandiver (Almeda) and Ray Vandiver (Judy).
