With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Jean Hicks (Searcy, Arkansas), who passed away on January 18, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles Smith and Dortha Smith of Benton Harbor, Michigan.; her spouse Olan Hicks; her brother Gerald Smith; her children, Jeanne Barnett (Marcus), Clint Hicks (Janice) and Chuck Hicks (Melinda); and her grandchildren, Dawnmarie Oyler (Charlie), Marla Hicks, Aimee Burch (Joe), Matthew Hicks (Sara), Carrie Bishop (Eric), Chad Hicks (Jill) and Molly Campbell (Blake). She was also cherished by great grandchildren, nephews, nieces.

“My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jeanne, Clint, and Chuck at the loss of your mom and dad. I just learned of their passing. I enjoyed studying the Bible at their feet while in Harriman and visiting with them when they traveled to Florida where I now live. I have thought about them often. Your dad was a great preacher and teacher and I will always remember him with love and admiration. Your mom was also a great teacher and I appreciated her wit and wisdom. May God give you peace.”
