Bettye Jean Collier Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Jean Collier in Saline, Arkansas, born in Okolona, Arkansas, who passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Travis Scoggins and Christine Scoggins (Spradlin); her brothers, Mike and Johnny Scoggins; her stepson Matthew Collier; and her son-in-law Patrick Glass.

She is survived by: her husband Leland Collier of Bryant, Arkansas; her children, Theresa Glass of Alexander, Arkansas and Anthony Stallings (Setsuko) of Oklahoma City; her stepson Joseph Collier of Montgomery, Alabama.; her grandchildren, Zach, Zoie Glass and Aiden James Collier; her brother Tim Scoggins (Sally) of Dallas, Texas; her friends, Tom and Nancy Wozniak of Athens; her sister Kay Spradlin Pantier; her niece Rachel Fields; and her friend Nilima Renukdas. She is also survived by family members and friends.

Her contributions to the field cannot be overstated as she captured some of the very first images of cells being born.
