He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Joe Penland of Jordan, John Matthew Penland of Le Claire, Thomas Penland (Candy) of Brockwell and Matthew Wallace Penland (Chelsea) of Dayton, Texas; his sister Susan Michael Kelly; and his grandchildren, Olivia Taylor Penland, Layla Elizabeth Penland, Marley Ava Penland, Emily Joe Penland, Lyden James Penland, Maileigh Grace Penland, Leven Ray Penland and Georgia Beth Penland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
