He was predeceased by: his son Tharon Lee Byrd; his parents, John Byrd and Jettie Byrd (Jones); his wife Jequita Byrd; and his siblings, William Edward Byrd, Joanna McLeod, Emma Lou Byrd and Bonnie Byrd.
He is survived by: his son John "Jeb" Byrd (Cindy); his daughter-in-law Nieda Byrd; his brothers, Lester Morgan Byrd and Farel Joe Byrd; and his grandchildren, Rocky, Amanda, Patrick, Katie and Logan. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
