He was predeceased by: his parents, John Strahan and Willie Strahan (Houston); his stepdaughter Sharon; his siblings, John "Junior" (Maxine Strahan), Lou Rogers (Dud), Ginger O'Brien and Barbara Forbs; and his brother-in-law Walter McMahon.
He is survived by: his wife Laverne Strahan; his sister Stella McMahon; his stepchildren, Marilyn Bell (Jim), Junior Bandy (Margaret), David Bandy (Marilynn), Roberta Pack (Michael) and Shirley Burkert; his brothers-in-law, Vernon O'Brien and Jim Forbs; and his close friend Lonnie Eddings. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
