She was predeceased by: her parents, Eula Pettie Kelly and Angus Lee Kelly; her husband Edward "Preacher" Simmons; her siblings, Lloyd Kelly, James Kelly, Mary Ann Morris and Cora Lee George; and her daughter Debbie Simmons Barrett.
She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Barrett, Edward Simmons (Amy) and Michelle Jenkins (Jimmy); her caregiver Kate Allison; her great grandchildren, Hannah Barrett, William Barrett, Alex Gray and Thea Gilbertson; and also, Natalie Barrett (Mike), Daniel Barrett (Megan), Andrea Barrett, Kelli Barrett, Weslie Gray (Scott), Emily Gilbertson (Tony) and Savannah Trussel (Luke).
Donations can be made in her honor to the St. Charles Baptist Church.
