He was predeceased by: his parents, Claud Hixon and Cleavie Reed Hixon; his siblings, Jack Hixon, Larry Hixon, Stan Hixon, Patsy Miller and Claudell Alvarado; and his close friend Lear Kemp.

He is survived by: his brother Dennis Hixon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
