She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe Dotson and Erma Elma Lollace Dotson; her husband Russell Carter; and her siblings, James Dotson, Thelma Ward (Jack) and Beulah McBroom (Homer).
She is survived by: her son Garry Carter (Cathy); her grandchildren, Joshua, Zoe, Matthew and Thomas; her great grandchildren, Aiden and Lincoln Carter; and her brother Dewey.
