He was predeceased by: his parents, Plutarco Chavez and Juana Chavez (Lopez); his daughter Sharon Kim Chavez; his siblings, Dionicia Lopez, Margaret Carter, Jennie Chavez, Vicente Chavez and Caquito Chavez; and his grandson Ricky Chavez.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Hightower of Rudy and Ricardo Alan Chavez of Studio City, California; his brothers, Herman Chavez of Paso Robles and Thomas Chavez of Rowland Heights, California; and his great great grandchildren, Bug, Tess, Daisy, Ruger, Beretta and Sako of Rudy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
