It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Barbee of Royal, Arkansas, born in Concord, North Carolina, who passed away on March 13, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father James Delmar Barbee; his brothers, Junior Barbee and Larry Barbee; his stepsons, Michael Dewaine Irons and Doug Cloud, Sr.; and his grandson Doug.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Barbee of Royal; his stepchildren, Logan Irons of Hot Springs and Delorous Cloud of Cabot; his siblings, Worth Barbee (Diane), John Barbee (Ann) of Concord, Steve Barbee of Rutherfordton and Janice Furr (Larry) of Concord; his grandson Kyle Irons of Dierks; his daughter Elizabeth Bond (Courtney); and his daughter-in-law Kandie Irons of Locksburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
