It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettie Joe Simmons of Royal, Arkansas, born in Bastrop, Louisiana, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Anthony White and Berta Evans White; her son Michael Lafond; and her brothers, Gene White and Lewis White.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Elizabeth Thompson (Christopher) of Virginia, Robert Lafond, Jr. (Susan) of Lonsdale and Cynthia Ann Rye; and her grandchildren, Robert Lafond, III, Kristen Pappas, Stephanie E. Thompson, Christopher Thompson (Erin) and Roberta L. Wrighten (Christopher).
